ANN COUSINS (Cousins, 1946) - Double - White - Late Midseason. Medium height. Rose fragrance. Flower medium to large in size. The open flowers need some support. The foliage is large. The plant is a vigorous and healthy grower and a dependable bloomer. The quality of the bloom is excellent. Introduced by Gilbert H. Wild & Son, at $100.00. Bulletin 104.

ANNE BIGGER (Bigger, 1945) - Double - Pink - Late Midseason. This very large medium pink flower is very smooth in color and always open. Very pretty buds, medium dark green foliage and strong stems. Seedling of FESTIVA MAXIMA. Formerly known as Seedling # 25-36. Bulletin 101.

ANNE CUNNINGHAM (Richmond, 1952) - Double - Old-Rose Pink - Late. Tall. Deep old-rose pink. Loose high-built flowers. Rose type. Wiry stems. Very double. Richmond's 1955 letter.

ANNE NIELSON (Good & Reese, 1930) - Double - Pink - Midseason. Soft shell pink of beautiful form. Huge and very attractive. List in Bulletin 91.

ANNIE LOUISE (Hollis-Wheeler, 1920) Double - Pink - Midseason.

ANNISQUAM (Thurlows & Stranger, 1951) Double - Pink - Midseason. Normal, pleasant fragrance. Large globular blooms of tender pink which retain their coloring until the petals fall. The petals are broad and rounded forming a cupped-shaped flower of smooth attractive appearance. Good both as a cut flower and for garden use. Wild 1955 catalog. Bulletin 127, page 16.

ANNIVERSARY (Saunders, 1941) - Pink - Single - Fringed flowers of clear pink. Very attractive. Albiflora x Otto Froebel. Lists in Bulletins 91 and 129.

ANN PFEIFFER (Pfeiffer, 1932) - Double - Deep Pink - Midseason. Very large deep pink. List in Bulletin 91.

ANTWERPEN (Origin unknown) - Japanese - Carmine Pink - Midseason. One of the largest Japanese peonies. Pink with enormous yellow center; the whole blossom looks like a full double peony. Catalogs and M.

ANZAC (Kelway, 1926) - Single - Carmine - Midseason.

APOLLO (Sass, 1930) - Medium height. Large. Pink with salmon blush in center of flower. Formerly No. 9-27. Bulletin 43.

APPLE BLOSSOM (Origin unknown) - Japanese. Deep Pink. See REI-KAI-ZAN. Midseason.

APRIGLOW (Franklin) - Double - Light Pink - List in Bulletin 91

A. P. SAUNDERS (Thurlow, 1919) - Double - Pink - Late, Medium height. Moderate fragrance. Very pale flesh-pink shading to white in the center; guards large, cleft at the tips, and occasionally marked with crimson; smoother and smaller petals graduate toward a well-formed chrysanthemum-like center. Habit of plant is strong; good foliage. Flowers freely. Midseason.

ARAPAHOE (Auten, 1945) - Japanese - Red - Midseason. First called AZTEC . A rich black red, the center holds. Center is red, heavily edged and tipped light yellow. Has shown exceptional keeping qualities as a cut flower. Distinct and outstanding. Auten's letter, 1955, Auten catalog.

ARBUTUS PINK (Freeborn, 1951) - Single - Clear Light Pink - Very early. Hybrid. Medium height. No odor. Officinalis rubra plena x MME. JULES DESSERT Guards deal light pink, well rounded. Filaments: white. Anthers: light yellow. Carpels: light green. Stigmas: white. Center untarnishable. Stems: good, upright. Foliage: medium green. Flower: neat, distinct and beautiful. Good for table decoration. Increases rapidly for a hybrid. Bulletin 122.

ARCHANGEL (Saunders, 1950) - Single - White - Hybrid. Albiflora x Macrophylla. List in Bulletin 129.

ARCHER (Kelway) - Double - Rose - Midseason.

ARCHIE BRAND (Brand, 1913) - Double - Sea Shell Pink - Midseason. Fragrant. Large, round, full rose-type blossoms. Named for Mr. Brand. M & List in Bulletin 130.

ARCTURUS (Auten, 1933) - Single - Red - Very Early. Large. Clear, rich velvety red, fine form and substance, on a good plant. Does not fade. Tall stiff stems. Catalogs & Bulletin 54.

ARETHUSA (Barr) - Double ~ Rose Pink - Midseason.

ARMIDE (Lemoine, 1933) - Double - White - Late. Enormous flowers, white tinged cream in the center. Tall, strong stems, very late, but a good opener. List in Bulletin 60.

ARMISTICE (Kelsey, 1938) - Double - Pink - Late Midseason. Tall. Fragrant. Large rose pink. Strong stems; rose formation. List in Bulletin 109.

AROHA (Blacklock) - Japanese - Pink. A lovely soft pale pink with full center of narrow creamy petals. List in Bulletin 93.
