ICE AGE (Bill Seidl), Manitowoc, Wisconsin, July 9, 1996. No seedling number. Parentage Mutation of Age of Gold. First bloomed 1990. Hybrid tree peony is a double white with medium purple flares. Good substance, with an abundant amount of bloom, reliable. 1-3 buds per stem, stamens and fragrant. [Plant habits similar to Age of Gold.] Grafts easily.

ICE STORM (Sir Peter Smithers, Switzerland), Sept. 11, 1992. Seedling #30369, single suffruticosa. Parentage, open pollinated seedling from Lydia Foote Q.V.; first bloomed 1989. The pure white single flower, 9" in diameter, is distinguished by the very large boss of stamens 6" in diameter. The strongly recurved petals are beautifully sculptured. Blooms in early May, red tips on leaf petiole. Has seeds, pollen and stamens. Propagated by Michel Riviere Nursery, France. Bulletin #285.

INDIANA JONES (Zlatana J. Draskovich), Gary, Indiana, June 13, 1995. Sport of seedling #410. Parentage: Zephyrus x Leda. First bloomed in 1994. Deep rose single tree peony. Flat form, with stamens and pollen. Height 4 ft., blooms in late mid-summer, a slow grower. This sport was possibly chemically induced with an experiment in 1991, using chloroform. Name was given Indiana Jones because of the advancement in technology, of Dr. Jones. Photo on file.

ISADORA BC 1 (Isadora Duncan - The Dancer) (Nassos Daphnis, New York), Aug. 24, 1995. Seedling number D-414, parentage unknown. Hybrid, color yellow with red overcast, single. This is the most unusual flower. It starts with very dark flares from the base of each petal sending the red cast over the yellow. Then we see the red color appearing again at the edge of each petal. The flowing gesture of each petal suggests the veils of Isadora Duncan, when she was dancing. Good substance, has stamens, no pollen or seeds, fragrant, reliable, one bud per stem. Good stem strength, 4-6 feet in height, light green foliage, vigorous. Amount of bloom varies (10-20). Colored slide. Bulletin #296.

JOANNA GILBERT (Sir Peter Smithers, Switzerland), Sept. 11, 1992. Seedling #31371, double tree peony. Parentage, a self-sown seedling - parentage unknown. First bloomed 1988. Pale pink double, reliable, good substance, no stamens, profuse amount of bloom. Stem strength, very rigid, blooms in late April, very vigorous. A seedling grown on its own root. The large full-double flowers are an attractive pale pink, 10" in diameter. Propagated by Michel Riviere Nursery, France. Bulletin #285.

KISHU CAPRICE (Arthur O. Sasaki, Tualatin, Oregon), Sept. 2, 1988. Tree peony with unknown suffructicosa. First bloomed 1939. Silvery rose double ball, good substance with heavy amount of bloom. Has stamens and pollen, excellent stem strength, very very early and grows to 5 ft. in height. Large leaves of medium green. This plant is in bloom by the second or third week in April here in Oregon. The seedling was brought from Kishu perfecture Japan as an unbloomed seedling. Permission has been given Caprice Nursery to name this plant Kishu Caprice and to propagate, introduce, and sell it through their catalog. Permission granted by Arthur O. and Mrs. Sasaki, Tualatin, Oregon. Registered by Allan and Dot Rogers, Sherwood, Oregon. Bulletin #268.

LAVENDER HILL (Bill Seidl), Manitowoc, Wisconsin, July 9, 1996. Seedling #MRV-3. Parentage Rock's Variety x Kamata Fuji. First bloomed 1990. This Moutan tree peony is double lavender with stamens, pollen and seeds. Reliable, good stem strength, height 36" high x 54" wide. Early bloom. Lavender petals and filaments, cream lavender sheath, reddish carpel tips, dark purple flares, 6-7 inch flowers are double (30+ petals), and fragrant. Borne on sturdy stems.
