Tartu Ülikooli Botaanikaaed (THE BOTANICAL GARDEN OF THE UNIVERSITY OF TARTU) INDEX PLANTARUM : Paeonia 'Lilian Gumm' Gumm 1921

Flower Form: Double

Staking: Best when staked

Height: 60-90 cm

Bloom Period: Week 5

Fragrance: Good

Side Buds: 1 or 2 per stem

Comments: This peony produces huge fluffy double flowers with a distinct lemon fragrance that makes for a wonderful cut flower. When staked however the plant is also a great garden specimen. The flowers are almost globe shaped with no visible collar.

Consider underplanting them with blue flowered plants such as Nepeta mussini or lavender for an incredibly pretty picture.© 2007 La Pivonière D'Aoust
